Thank You

I won a giveaway from Loretta at Loretta’s Stitching Blog! I haven’t gotten a picture yet, so I borrowed this one from her blog. She sent some red buttons, ribbon, and cording. Can’t wait to play with these! Thank you so much Loretta!

And thank you to Kendra for the sweet spring card! It so much brightened my day! It has seed paper so I can plant it and grow some pretty flowers. :)

I haven’t taken any pictures lately or doing much of anything at all. I haven’t been feeling well, have a hurt tooth. Can’t sleep and hubby took two days off work to help me with the kids, and Monday I finally got to see the dentist. He did a temp thing to my tooth to supposedly stop the pain. It turns out it is a root canal. Insurance waiting period is up in May, so I have to wait, or pull $900 out of thin air to pay for it without insurance… which is way cheaper than anyone else I’ve seen, but still is not what we can afford. The temp thing so far isn’t really working. But it’s only been one full day. I keep praying it will give me some relief. It’s amazing how one little thing like a tooth can cause so much awfulness.

Over the weekend our family watched Mr Popper’s Penguins. I wasn’t too sure about this one, the reviews weren’t that great that I read, but I’m so glad I ignored them. We all enjoyed it! Jim Carrey is a favorite, just don’t care for the really weird movies he’s done.

We also watched Courageous. It was a lot better than I expected! Some Christian movies, the acting really sucks, sorry but it’s true. I thought the actors were so much better and the message was awesome. My son wants to watch it again, which surprised me. He cried and cried after we watched it. He wasn’t really clear why, I think he’s holding out on me.

Always trusting in Him!
Jessica

January TUSAL and Movies

My first ORT (old ratty thread) jar of the year (TUSAL). Not much in there yet, but I didn’t start a new jar until after the Bent Creek Snappers I posted about in the last post. I started stitching for a friend… now that I have finished a scarf for my daughter, I can continue working on it. This one is a challenge for me, because I want to change up the colors different from the chart, and I am so not creative with that. Hopefully it goes well.

Today I watched five movies. For reals. I have been in such a funk. I also needed a rest from “stuff”, after getting the kids off to school. I finished Anabelle’s scarf while watching at least.

#1- The Ultimate Gift. GREAT movie, loved it, highly recommend it. A good family movie, funny, emotional, but overall, a feel-good movie!

#2- Reign Over Me. Adam Sandler is Charlie, a September 11 widower who experiences severe post traumatic stress disorder. I loved it. It’s emotional. It made me cry. Rated R for language. Not one to watch with kids around.

#3- Adam. It was good, but I liked the first two movies better. About a young man with Asperger’s Syndrome. It’s an indy romantic drama.

Then I turned on Netflix to watch:

#4- Griffin & Phoenix. Good movie, romantic drama. I love Dermot Mulroney. This one needs some tissues too. About a man with terminal cancer.

#5- The Accidental Husband. I enjoyed it and definitely no tissues needed for this one. It was a typical romantic comedy that would never happen in the real world.

So if you’re bored and want to watch some movies, there ya go. I just gave you five different ideas.

What I’ve Been Up To

Finished this scarf today. My friend came over and helped me remember how to crochet. Seems I had forgotten how in the year or two that I haven’t done it. I am now making one for Sidekick, she chose a traditional baby colored yarn from my ancient stash of really cheap yarn, ya know, the rough stuff. I don’t know what else to do with all my old yarn, so I’ll just make scarves out of it. We always need them around here anyway.

I also finished these three Bent Creek Snappervilles that I bought the patterns for a few months ago. I plan to frame them in TS frames and hang them up. We have plenty of wall space to cover up.

Picnik is ending in April, so I took advantage of free premium to play with the stickers on today’s pics. I think they are cute. I wonder if them closing means I will need to doctor my pics with my blog name *before* uploading to Picasa. I sometimes do in PSP7 (yes I still have that version. LOL. Probably only my friends from the old ‘country graphics community’ will know what I’m talking about.) Anyway, back to the pics…

Nutmeg today. I need to find a place to take her for grooming. We give her baths, but she also needs nails clipped now and then. She is too squirmy for my comfort to do them. She also has black nails, I am SO not comfortable with that either. I’d rather someone else with better experience clip them!

Today I also sprayed out the computer. This fellow and I have been together a long time. He’s slow, and I’m too fast, but we still manage to get along okay.

Are you thinking spring? Cuz I am! I still love winter, but for some reason this season I just wish it was spring already. I want to see flowers blooming and grass growing.

To those who I owe emails to, I haven’t forgotten. Give me some time. :)

Thank you for visiting, and I hope you have an awesome weekend! TGIF!

This n That

Forgot to share these few photos from November.

Our Bailey-roo. He is very loved and spoiled.

I took an old unscented candle and covered it with misc. wax that I melted in a TS crock pot, and then mixed in coffee grounds. AKA me making a mess in the kitchen. Here it is almost all covered. It was fun and I like how the candle turned out!

I did the same to one of my tea lights to stick in the candle.

A few days ago we tried making korker ribbon for my daughter. These turned out great! Wish the pic was better. I used ribbon from the dollar section at Target from last Spring.

These came in the mail from Kim at Valley Primitives Gift Shoppe! I won her first giveaway. Aren’t they wonderful! The candle smells amazing, the scent is Apple Bourbon. Thank you so much Kim!

Stacy at Stacy Kay Creations sent me this sweet snowman Christmas card and matching ornament! She makes such charming cards! Thank you Stacy!

Today I started taking down some of our Christmas things. I didn’t take any pics to share before Christmas, so I thought I’d snap a few real quick, ya know, cuz I am so last minute and all.

Not much to see, but here’s most of the cards we received. :)

A rare LadyMoon photo this afternoon.

As I was heading out to the back deck to take down lights and tidy up the mess from the wind we recently had, I found a wee box delivered by UPS from my new dentist. Inside was a coffee travel mug, some gum and a business magnet. It was such a surprise, I have never gotten a gift from a dentist office before! How fancy! I needed a new travel mug too!

Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope you have a blessed 2012, filled with hope and JOY!

December TUSAL

I just love this picture of Anabelle watching TV with Clover in her lap. :)

Here it is, the final TUSAL of 2011! Daffycat is hosting one for 2012, it will be a little different than 2011, so hop on over to her blog and check it out if you want to participate. I will be doing two jars this year. One for cross stitch threads and the other for all other little scraps from my crafting.

It’s Christmas Eve! I hope you all have a blessed Christmas!! We’ve already been given the best gift in the world! Thank you God for the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ!! It’s all about love!
